About the Artist: Graffiti, magic, mathematics, crosswords, 360-degree photography, and improvised architectural demolition fascinated Chu from a very early age. For Chu, the sacred geometry of a grid reminds us of the systems that underpin all society on earth, free of language and unbound by metaphors. Viewers are encouraged to discover the (secret) single viewpoint in three-dimensional space - the reward is that the artwork becomes a flat, undistorted visual assault. “Trip Hazard”, the title of Chu's most ambitious endeavour to date, playfully implies that the viewer has to journey through and investigate in order to unlock the treasure buried within.
